Homie student apartments

Homie student apartments is a solution for student housing in Turin (like me!). They offer flats just for students, close to the main universities.

They needed a website for showing all their flats in a clear way, using a custom layout for improving branding and user experience. We focused on making it as simple as possible, trying to offer the easiest "flow" to the clients for finding the right apartment.

We thought that the best way for searching a house is by looking a map, because you immediatly know where it is located. So the first section of the website is a big map built with Mapbox that shows the flats and the main universities of the city.

When the user clicks on a flat, all the images and infos are shown in a overlay dinamically built with javascript. In this way the user doesn't have to change page for every apartment he wants to see.

I used Wagtail for the first time for building the backend, I found it amazing for its rapid development and its nice CMS layout. The interface for adding/editing an apartments is splitted in multiple tabs.

We decided to use Google Maps in the backend as there is a great library for easily including it.
